Junior Software Engineer

Tuzla, Gracanica, Zenica Full-time, On-site

As a Junior Software Developer, you will work alongside experienced engineers to design, build, and maintain modern software solutions for a variety of client projects. This role is ideal for engineers who have a solid foundation in software development and are eager to continue learning, gaining hands-on experience, and growing their technical and professional skills in a collaborative environment.

About the role

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop, test, and maintain software applications and services under the guidance of senior engineers.

  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established engineering standards and best practices.

  • Collaborate with teammates to design, implement, and improve application features and technical solutions.

  • Integrate software components, APIs, and third-party services.

  • Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing applications and systems.

  • Participate in code reviews and apply feedback to continuously improve technical skills and code quality.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation and contribute to testing and quality assurance activities.

  • Collaborate with Product, QA, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Follow Agile development practices and actively participate in team ceremonies and technical discussions.

  • Continuously learn new technologies, tools, and engineering practices while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

A Candidate Will Demonstrate

Proven experience:
Typically 1–3 years of professional software development experience, including internships, personal projects, or commercial experience building web applications and software solutions.

Technical expertise:
We work across a variety of technologies and projects, and candidates are not expected to have experience with every technology listed below. However, successful candidates should have hands-on experience with several of these areas and demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.

Examples of technologies and domains we commonly work with include:

  • Programming languages and frameworks such as PHP, Java, Python, JavaScript, and C/C++.

  • Frontend development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, or similar technologies.

  • Relational databases, including MySQL and PostgreSQL.

  • Building and consuming REST APIs and integrating third-party services.

  • Version control systems such as Git and modern development workflows.

  • Containerization and development tools, including Docker and related technologies.

  • Linux-based environments and web servers such as Apache and Nginx.

  • Automated testing, debugging, and software quality practices.

  • Cloud services, infrastructure concepts, and CI/CD practices.

  • Basic networking concepts, including DNS and SSL certificates.

Communication and teamwork:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively, ask questions, and learn from feedback.

Growth mindset:
Demonstrated curiosity, problem-solving ability, and a desire to continuously improve technical and professional skills.

Education:
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is advantageous but not required.
